Wildlife in Rajaji National Park
Rajaji National Park is mainly composed of dense green forests, and this environment forms a habitat for many animals. An amalgamation of three different forests with distinct life forms, Rajaji National Park has a vast diversity of land and fauna.
The park is on the northwestern border of distribution for both elephants and tigers in India. Other wild animals found in the park include the Asian elephant, Bengal tiger, langur, leopard, jungle cat, striped hyena, sambar, bear, barking deer, goral, Indian hare, monitor lizard, kachchi bear, Indian porcupine and rhesus macaque Huh.
Birdwatching is one of the popular attractions here due to the presence of large number of birds. Scimitters, babblers, starlings, hawk-owls, cuckoos, partridges, hornbills, kingfishers, pea fowls, cormorants, lapwing and partidas are just a few of the 315 birds that call it home.
Many types of butterflies are a permanent fixture between plants and shrubs and migratory birds make it their home during the winter months.
Trout and mashir fish populate the Ganges cutting water through the forest.

Best Time To Visit Rajaji National Park
The best time to go to Rajaji park is from 15th November to 15th June because the park is closed the other months. April to June are a small amount warm; however, this is often a far better period to spot animals. it’s advised to go to within the half of the day to be ready to explore the foremost of the park. Also, during this point , the atmosphere remains pleasantly cool or moderate during the day. Winter evenings would cause a drop by the mercury level, so appropriate clothing is far recommended. How To Reach Rajaji Park
Rajaji National Park can be reached from Haridwar, Garhwal and Dehradun via many buses and taxis. Dehradun is just 21 km from the park, while Haridwar is around 43 km. You can also take a taxi from New Delhi which is about 223 km from the park and takes INR 3000 and around 6 hours to reach here. The nearest railhead and airport are in Dehradun and are easily available to take tourists by taxis and buses to Rajaji National Park.
