State's first snake park opened in Dehradun zoo

Tourists visiting Doon Zoo will now get a chance to see snakes of 10 species including King Cobra, Vermis Python, Russel, Indian Snake, Kaman Sandboa, Reticulate Python, Rock Python, Wall Python, Wine Python, Dhaman.

Apart from this, tourists will also be able to see the iguana species lizard found in many countries including America with these snakes. Forest Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat inaugurated the Snake Park at Doon Zoo on Thursday.

In His Address, Forest Minister Dr. Rawat Said Doon zoo Is Making Its New Identity At National And International Level. The Forest Minister Emphasized That In The Coming Days More Facilities For Tourists Will Be Developed In Doon Zoo.All Steps Are Being Taken For This. Chief Conservator Of The Program Jayaraj Said That The Snake Park Is One Of The Selected Snake Parks In The Country. It Is The First Snake Park In The State.
Park Director PK Patra Told That Apart From Some Local Snakes In Snake Park, Snakes Found In Other States Have Been Kept. In Addition To The Forest Minister, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi, Chief Conservator Of Forests GS Pandey, Divisional Forest Officer Rajeev Dhiman, Including All Officials, Employees And Tourists Were Present.

Cactus Park also inaugurated

Forest Minister Dr. Rawat inaugurated the Snake Park as well as the Cactus Park during the program. He also inquired in detail about all the species of cactus planted in Cactus Park. Cactus park has been found in the country as well as cactus found abroad.

Snakes brought from Chennai and Bangalore Snake Park
Director PK Pathak told that many species of snakes kept in Snake Park were brought from Chennai and Bangalore Snake Park. These snakes were brought from Chennai and Bangalore under the supervision of experts.

 Iguana species lizard brought from America
In Snake Park, 11 species of snakes, as well as iguana species lizards found in American countries, have also been kept for tourists.

 Kanpur snake provided training to employees
In order to better keep snakes in snake park, a snake charmer of Kanpur was called. In which the employees were duly trained for two months. The effect of the training is that the employees of the park are taking care of the dangerous poisonous cobra snake as well as other snakes without fear.
